The new Dallas Cowboys stadium features 300,000 square feet of low-e glass. Applied is the leading glass equipment manufacturer with the largest installed base of 178 glass coating systems worldwide.

The recent installation of a new R&D glass coater at Applied Materials’ Glass Coating Technology Center in Fairfield, California, is another milestone in the company’s large-area glass coating systems focus on an expanding array of industries. Applied’s large area glass coating systems enable customers to produce energy-efficient glass for some of the world’s most prominent buildings and structures.

For instance, the new Dallas Cowboys stadium features more than 300,000 square feet of glass processed on an Applied Glass Coater used by our customer Viracon. And in the Middle East, Emirates Glass LLC, a leading processor of architectural flat glass in the region, recently installed an Applied Glass Coater capable of processing up to 3.7 million square meters of coated glass per year — supporting the region’s anticipated economic expansion over the next several years in a sustainable and environment friendly way.

In addition to energy conservation glass coatings, Applied’s thin film technologies are used to generate photovoltaic-based clean energy, as well as energy efficient flat panel display applications found in today’s most advanced LCD TVs and personal computer monitors.

As Applied continues to innovate its thin film technologies, we are expanding our reach beyond architectural glass and coated glass for electronics to include a whole new set of solar and clean tech applications. The future looks bright indeed.
