Investor's Business Daily: Applied Materials "Managing for Success"

Investor's Business Daily interviews Applied Materials' Charlie Gay on how the company is managing for success with its diversication into the solar business and focus on crystalline silicon solar, and just how far the solar industry has come in 30 years.  Below is an exceprt from the article:

"Gay has seen big advances over his 30-plus years in the solar industry. He remembers 'seeing it take a year to make one megawatt and in 1982, a year to install one megawatt." He now marvels at seeing "that megawatt being made in less than eight hours, and taking less than a day to be installed.'

He expects more breakthroughs, saying the industry has "an incredibly bright future and a great deal of potential.'

'I think the momentum that's been established is unstoppable,' he said.
