The Government of India hosted the Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) 2010 recently on the theme of "Up-scaling and Mainstreaming Renewables for Energy Security, Climate Change and Economic Development". The show was the most significant event on renewable energy ever held in India, attracted more than 9,000 delegates and had more than 250 speakers and 600 exhibitors from 50 countries – including ministerial delegations from several countries.

Calisolar yesterday marked the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Sunnyvale, California with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by California Governor Schwarzenegger and local officials. Also on hand to commemorate this expansion was Applied Materials VP of Crystalline Silicon Products Ken MacWilliams.  Read more

Jiangsu Province Delegation Visits Applied

Jiangsu, the eastern coastal province with the largest solar manufacturing capacity in China, is considered the "California" of energy policy in China. In June 2009, Jiangsu put in place the nation's first feed-in tariff program, aiming to install 400 MW solar panels by 2011.

Last Friday, Applied hosted a 30-member strong government delegation from Jiangsu.Read more
