To promote science education and excite young people about applying science and technology to solve problems and improve the way people live, the National Taiwan Science Education Center (NTSEC) and Applied Materials unveiled a semiconductor exhibit titled “Amazing Semiconductors” at NTSEC in Taipei, Taiwan this week.

Taiwan’s PV Industry Strong and Well

The annual PV Taiwan exhibition was held in Taipei October 26-28 with a three day exhibition and a two day forum. Backed by the Taiwan government and organized by SEMI, the PV Taiwan Forum featured speakers and materials discussing polysilicon, thin film, HCPV, OPV and next-generation PV technologies. Twenty industrial leaders, including heads of businesses from Gintech, Manz, Motech, Solarbuzz and SpectroLab, spoke at the forum to share their latest developments, market insights and overall trends.Read more

Applied Materials Taiwan donates solar heaters

On the 40th anniversary of Earth Day last week, Applied Materials Taiwan announced they would be donating solar heaters to five native elementary schools through sponsorship of the IShare Community Development Association’s "Energy Saving and CO2 Reduction" eco campaign.  The association’s campaign will help 10 remote mountain elementary schools install solar heaters in addition to raising environmental awareness to the public.
